Dr. Jerome Bode, DVM
Practice Partner/Veterinarian
Dr. Bode has been with Johnson Animal Clinic for over two decades. He is a St. Xavier High School graduate who always knew he would pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
He graduated with his veterinary degree from Auburn University in 1990. After gaining experience at multiple veterinary clinics in Louisville he started practicing at Johnson Animal Clinic in 1995.
In 1998 Dr. Bode became the owner of Johnson Animal Clinic and poured his all into accomodating clients and their pets. Dr. Bode has always surrounded himself with doctors and staff that share the same passion for providing above and beyond care. Anyone who knows Dr. Bode knows that he is extremely experienced, caring, compassionate and honest. He has always put himself in owners shoes when practicing veterinary medicine.
At home, Dr. Bode and his wife Jennifer have three cats of their own named Monkey, Tabitha and Tango. They have two adult children, Jon (who you will often find helping out at the clinic) and Alexis.
Dr. Rebecca Hite, DVM
Practice Partner/Veterinarian
Born and raised in Louisville, Ky. Dr. Rebecca Hite graduated from Louisville Male High School in 1998 and pursued a bachelors in Animal Science at the University of Kentucky.
After graduating from Auburn University in 2006, she moved to Nashville to work in a 24 hour practice. She was excited to return to her hometown of Louisville in 2008.
Dr. Hite then worked in a small animal practice for a few years and gained emergency experience at Metropolitan Veterinary Specialist ER for 2 1/2 years.
Later she started at Johnson Animal Clinic in 2012 and has felt at home ever since!
She loves working with people and has a huge compassion for animals that has continued to fuel her interest in veterinary medicine. Her interest encompasses all of small animal practice, but she really enjoys internal medicine and endocrinology.
She has a loving husband, Ryan, a beautiful daughter, handsome son, 2 scruffy dogs, 2 wiley cats and 5 chickens out in LaGrange Ky!
Dr. Brian Murphy, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Brian Murphy was born and raised in Louisville, graduating from Trinity High School in 2004. He then attained a B.A. in biology from Bellarmine University in 2008. Dr. Murphy achieved his veterinary degree from Auburn University in 2013. His veterinary interests include dermatology, endocrinology, and soft-tissue surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Murphy has been actively involved with Boy Scout Troop 327 at St. Albert the Great Parish. WIth the troop, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and has since become an Assistant Scoutmaster. He also enjoys boating, swimming, spending time with family and friends, and is an avid Auburn Football fan. GO WAR EAGLES!
Dr. Murphy has been a long-time member of the Johnson Animal Clinic staff, starting as a veterinary assistant back in 2005.
Dr. Julie Reynolds, DVM
Veterinarian
A Kentucky native, Dr. Julie Reynolds attended the University of Kentucky (Go Cats!) to obtain her Bachelors degree in Animal Science. She then attended Auburn University to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (War Eagle!). After graduating veterinary school in May 2019 she married her husband, Austin, in June. They then made the move from Auburn, AL back to their home state of Kentucky. Looking for a new adventure they decided to move to a city they’d never lived in and chose the fun filled city of Louisville!
Dr. Reynolds and her husband Austin live in J-town with their beautiful daughter and greyhound named Roo. Dr. Reynolds loves all aspects of veterinary medicine and has a passion for building relationships with both the pet and owners. She also enjoys soft tissue surgery, anxiety related behavior issues, and dermatology. In her free time you can find Dr. Reynolds hiking with her pups, boating on the lake, watching Kentucky and Auburn games, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
TJ Stickler , DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. TJ Stickler was born and raised in Louisville, KY and is a St. Xavier High School alumni. He attended the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate schooling and achieved his veterinary degree from Auburn University in 2018. TJ's first job in the veterinary field was as a veterinary assistant at Johnson Animal Clinic (2010-2016). Dr. Stickler loves working with both people and animals, and enjoys all areas of veterinary medicine.
His interests include preventative medicine, dermatology, and emergency. His family includes his loving wife, Katie, two dogs, two cats, and a bearded dragon. In his free time Dr. Stickler enjoys outdoor activities, including fishing and kayaking. He and his wife love traveling, especially to the National Parks where they enjoy hiking trails and being outdoors.
